Hotspot key

Leave it empty to keep the hotspot open. Eight characters or more to lock it.

Sharing is on, so applying any change here restarts the whole tester, which interrupts a test in progress. Clearing the key also turns sharing off.

Setting this drops every phone connected, including this one. There are two ways back in if it is forgotten: the key is printed on the serial console at every boot, and holding the BOOT button until the light turns white clears it without a cable.

Notifications

A saved report is posted as JSON to this URL. Point it at Slack, n8n, Zapier, a mail relay, or your own backend.

Empty disables it. HTTPS is accepted but not certificate verified: this device has no certificate store. Nothing is queued or retried, and a failed notification never costs you the report, which is saved on the tester before this is attempted.

Last attempt: never

Not an address on the network under test: the tester does not post a network's own findings to a machine on it, and checks again before every send.

Internet check

The tester proves a drop reaches the internet by completing a TLS handshake with this address. Change it if your network blocks the default.

Leave the address empty to go back to 1.1.1.1:443. Use an IP address rather than a name where you can: the check exists to tell a broken resolver from a broken uplink, and it cannot do that if reaching it needs the resolver. It must be something that speaks TLS; a plain HTTP port will read as unreachable, which is the point. Not an address on the network under test either: the check is skipped rather than aimed at the network it is measuring.
